About this project

“] Project Dates: September 2016 – August 2017

Details: Midland Painted Turtles are facing threats like habitat loss, and they need your help to restore their wetland homes. Through the help of kids just like you, Earth Rangers and the City of Toronto are working hard to protect Midland Painted Turtles. The donations raised for this Bring Back the Wild project are helping to:

  • Plant over 500 native trees and shrubs and over 800 wetland plants as part of the Toronto Islands Habitat Pond restoration project
  • Install basking logs to provide turtles with a place to warm up

Creating new habitat is important to ensure that populations of the Midland Painted Turtle do not continue their rapid decline.
